TIS THE SEASON: THE GRATITUDE EXERCISE HOW-TO
Something we like to do most evenings over dinner with the kids is go around the table and let each person say what they are thankful for. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we thought it would be in the spirit of things to share a Turkey Day tradition of ours, where we invite our family and friends to participate in a gratitude exercise.
This exercise was adapted from Glitter Guide, and is super simple to replicate, even for the extremely busy 🙂
Have an envelope with each guests’ name written on it along with the right size card and pens. Throughout the day, invite everyone to write a note for each person saying why they are grateful for them and stick it in the respective person’s envelope. At the end of the meal (or during dessert if your meal is early like ours!), pass out the envelopes for everyone to open (or they can save them to read privately later). This is an awesome way to both express gratitude and make people feel appreciated during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
