Gratitude Exercise

TIS THE SEASON: THE GRATITUDE EXERCISE HOW-TO Something we like to do most evenings over dinner with the kids is go around the table and let each person say what they are thankful for. With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we thought it would be in the spirit of things to share a Turkey Day tradition of ours, where we invite our family and friends to participate in a gratitude exercise. This exercise was adapted from Glitter Guide, and is super simple to replicate, even for the extremely busy

Living with Endometriosis

LIVING WITH ENDOMETRIOSIS Recently one of my friends was diagnosed with Endometriosis. She had been suffering with very painful periods and painful sex for years, and finally after trying unsuccessfully for the last year or so to have a baby, was diagnosed. Since then I have learned a lot about the condition and how many women it impacts. The scariest thing about it is that so few doctors are willing to diagnose it and so many women go undiagnosed for years (like my friend). Another really scary part about Endo is that there are very

What The Spectrum?

WHAT THE SPECTRUM? We all know by now my love for all things CBD, but man can it be a confusing topic! Something that has been so confusing for me lately is all of these CBD companies (gosh, there are SO many!) on Instagram talking about Full Spectrum vs. Broad Spectrum vs. CBD Isolate. Because the CBD world is so new, terms like these get thrown around willy-nilly it seems, and there isn't a lot of regulation going on to control who is allowed to say what on their packaging. To try to

Rogue Paq

HOW A GROWN-UP STORES THEIR CANNABIS This might be the least surprising thing I've ever said, but I've been getting more and more into Cannabis lately. Don't get me wrong, I'll never completely give up my wine or my Truly's, but these days nights, after the kids go to bed, I've been finding myself turning to my adorable leopard print pipe (see it in the pic below!) with just as much excitement! Not only does Cannabis provide me with the escape I need after a stressful day, but it leaves me hangover free in the

Maker’s Market At The Point

WEEKEND PLANS: MAKER'S MARKET AT THE POINT It feels only too appropriate that it's the actual last weekend of Summer (or is it the first weekend of Fall?) and the weather is looking glorious here in the Northeast. We live by a cozy little beach here in Maine and are definitely planning on getting down for one last sand castle and dip in the ocean! We're also really excited to be going to the Maker's Market at Thompson's Point on Sunday. They seem to really be stepping up their game in terms of activities and fun

Back To School

GJ's GUIDE TO BACK TO SCHOOL Well, fam, we did it. We got those kids through this glorious summer and back on that school bus and mostly out of our hair! And while we'll miss the endless supply of snacks, the incessant "can we watch a show?" and the occasional late starts (emphasis on occasional), we're mostly happy to let them be someone else's problem for the next few months. But along with back to school comes the carpool, the after-school activities and homework. The schedule is enough to drive any mama crazy,

Sleep Products

GJ's GUIDE TO GOOD SLEEP Sleep for me used to be really brutal. Between taking forever to fall asleep to getting woken up in the middle of the night by babies and now preschoolers, to the against-my-will early mornings, I felt like I was always exhausted. My husband falls asleep the instant his head hits the pillow and doesn't wake up again until our kids jump on the bed in the morning. Meanwhile I toss and turn for sometimes hours and wake at the sound of a pin dropping! I recently discovered some

favorite salad recipes

GJ's HEARTY AND HEALTHY SALAD RECIPES You know you're a grown-up when...you're having dinner with your other grown-up friends and an actual topic of conversation is "what are your top 5 salads?". This actually happened to me last night, which got me thinking....what are the top 5 salads? For me, a salad has to be hearty number ONE. That means meat, cheese, maybe even bread (in fact, I said my number one salad was a Panzanella salad to which my friend replied, "is that even a salad?!"). Peep below the

Mommy + Me Dates

MOMMY + ME DATES My eldest child, my daughter, is getting ready to go off to Kindergarten in the Fall and I have really been soaking up as much mommy/daughter time as possible this summer. Last weekend I took her for her first mani/pedi. She was so cute, absolutely mesmerized by the man painting teeny tiny flowers on her fingers and toes. For my part, I brought a CBD bath bomb from my favorite bomb-maker, Hari Om Hemp, to add to my pedicure. The salon was totally open to it

GJ Book Club: End of Summer Picks

GJ's BOOK CLUB: END OF SUMMER PICKS Welp, we survived the travel weekend (just barely, TBH), Cessna and all. Play Doh was probably the biggest hit on the plane with the kids (besides the snacks and iPad), and I survived by popping chill pills and sneaking in little moments to read a book that has rooted itself a firm spot in my top 5 (maybe even top 3!). So, I thought I would share some great end of Summer reads for you guys to enjoy in your final
